‘Balidan’ is the story of Tithi who sacrifices herself for her family. Tithi is a girl from a poor family. Their family falls on hard times when her brother loses his job and is detected with blood cancer. She gets into prostitution to help her family financially. Rahul is a good natured boy from an affluent family. He sees Tithi regularly on his way to office. He also saves her purse from being stolen. They secretly develop feelings for each other. Rahul’s family arranges his marriage with Tithi but he is unaware who the girl is. They are shocked the day they meet each other. Tithi calls Rahul separately and asks him not to reveal her past to her family. Rahul agrees to do so and proposes marriage to her as he is impressed by her sacrifice. But Tithi fails to honor his proposal as she had already consumed poison and dies. Rahul never marries in life.
