Surer Bhubane' is the love story of Anjan and Nandini. Anjan is a violinist and Nandini is a young student in love. Nandini becomes pregnant because of their affair and her mother commits suicide. Circumstances separate the lovers. Nandini gets shelter at the house Rashid Khan who treats her like his daughter. She gives birth to a boy. Anjan becomes a famous music composer with the help of his female friend Mitra. Nandini contracts a fatal ailment during delivery. When the lovers finally meet Nandini is on her death bed. She hands over the responsibility of her son Bacchu to Anjan and dies.
